The Energy Performance Directive is driving the transition towards more energy-efficient buildings across the EU – and opening up major opportunities for companies in construction, real estate, energy and technology.
By offering solutions that improve the energy performance of buildings – such as smart control systems, energy-efficient installations or certification services – your company can both contribute to a sustainable society and grow its business. A new revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive by the European Commission was necessary to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
Buildings to become energy-efficient, and increasing the renovation rate of existing buildings and including smart building automation and renewable technologies as part of this.
Already in 2025, a requirement for building automation and building control applies to many types of local buildings
As this means more focus on smart buildings and data collection, it is very important not to lock yourself into a single brand but to ensure that systems and products from different brands are interoperable in the building to obtain a future-proof technical system that also offers many more different possibilities – such as KNX
