Eurolan Group is one of the leading European suppliers of copper and fiber optic cable systems (SCS), fiber to the home (FTTx), 19-inch telecommunications racks and universal home networks. Since November 1, 2021, Eurolan has been acquired by Ahlsell AB. Ahlsell is at the forefront and strives to constantly develop its offering around new exciting technology that gives you added value. A major customer benefit with Ahlsell's acquisition of Eurolan is that you as an installer now have access to a really good range and can also shop everything in one place.
In addition, availability increases because the entire Eurolan range is stored in Ahlsell's logistics center in Hallsberg for delivery the day after ordering, as well as a larger range in Ahlsell's stores around Sweden, Norway and Finland.

The European Commission has recently decided to phase out mercury from all light sources. This means that T5 and T8 fluorescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps and circular fluorescent lamps will disappear from the market in 2023. This will affect an estimated 17 million luminaires over the next five years. Since 2006, the EU has been gradually reducing the use of mercury, and now the rules are even stricter. From 24 August 2023, no new T5/T8 lamps or compact fluorescent lamps may be sold in the EU. However, it is still possible to sell the remaining stocks and use the luminaires that are already installed. The reason for the change is that fluorescent lamps both contain mercury and are less energy efficient. With high electricity prices, now is a good time to replace old T5/T8 lamps with energy-efficient LED solutions. This results in both lower electricity bills and a more sustainable future – an investment that pays off quickly!

Safety that breathes security On January 1, 2025, the Swedish Work Environment Authority's precise rules on fit tests for close-fitting respiratory protection came into effect. This means that employees' respiratory protection must be individually tested and that close-fitting respiratory protection must undergo a fit test. The precise rules on fitting close-fitting respiratory protection have been developed to ensure that the respiratory protection fits tightly against the face. The aim is to prevent the user from getting sick, getting injured or dying from inhaling hazardous particles and substances. We make it easy to follow the new rules To facilitate the transition, we offer a new service that makes it easy for employers to meet the new requirements. The service means that we have trained and certified employees who can perform fit tests according to a standardized method, both on site at your location and in selected Ahlsell stores. We offer a nationwide solution where fit tests are performed using a quantitative testing method (CNP). The goal is to be able to help our customers find a tight-fitting respirator that is right for them. All faces are different and respirators come in different models and sizes. Unfortunately, there is no respirator that fits everyone, as the fit is individual and unique to each user.
